Senior Business Analyst - 15 month fixed term contract


Are you able to take large volumes of information and present it in a format that is easy for stakeholders to understand? We are looking for a highly motivated Business Analyst who can deliver within a significant change project.

The role

The Statistics team support the data needs of monetary policy, financial stability and the compilation of financial sector statistics. They act as data stewards for regular prudential and statistical data collections which are critical to monitoring the health of the New Zealand economy and financial sector.

Stage 1 of the BASE project (Better Analysis, Statistical Excellence) is about to begin. The projects aim is to make it easy for the Statistics team to provide critical data and insights for internal and external stakeholders. The goal for Stage 1 is to understand the needs of our clients and design a future that will meet those needs at a high level.   

The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for all aspects of the business analysis functions including preparation of project documentation, requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement and analysing and evaluating information to feed in to the business requirement specifications.   

About you

You’ll be a self-starter and able to demonstrate your ability to plan, manage and deliver the business analysis functions for a significant government or financial services project. You’ll have strong numerical and analytical skills and will be able to summarise complex business requirements into clear business language. You’ll be comfortable working with ambiguity and provide pragmatic solutions to problems. You will have a collaborative working style and strong stakeholder management skills and will use your analytical skills to demonstrate sound evidence based decision making.
